GR!T Creative Technologies Camp is open to cis-female, trans and non-binary youth ages 12-18.

Campers form production groups on their first day of camp! Next, they collaborate on original tunes brought in by the artists. Participants will work directly with GR!T Records' Audio Engineers and Producers throughout this hands-on learning experience. Our goal is to record FIVE songs, in FIVE days!
GR!T Records Production Roles
At GR!T Records production teams will work in groups of 3-5.
Artist- brings a finished, original song to fine-tune, sings the song, collaborates with the Producer on musical ideas, works with the Audio Engineer on recording the song (must have a minimum of 1 to a maximum of 5 songs ready to be recorded).
Audio Engineer- mixes and masters (balance, panning, eq, effects, etc.) the song, records song, collaborates with the Producer on editing, prepares song file for showcase.
Audio Technician- responsible for setting & connecting microphones, amplifiers, and speakers prior to recording sessions, identifies & tracks down any issues with audio signal chains.
Producer- collaborates with the Artist on musical ideas and artistic vision for the project, leads production of the backing track(s) to support the group’s vision, collaborates with Audio Engineer on editing.
We wish to give every camper their first or second choice, however, in some years certain production roles are more popular than others, which means we have to do a little extra work to make it all fit! We want to create a balanced camp-- So, if you are a returning rocker, give yourself a little push to try out something new! Or, let the Fates decide… meaning we pick your production role for camp.

Yes! Summer GR!T Camp youth have access to our full, Free Instrument Library including guitars, bass guitars, keyboards, drums (and even less conventional instruments like the theremini & keytar!)
We set up all the necessary gear so campers can focus on having fun and making music.
If your student wants to take their instrument home to practice, they can check gear out of the Instrument Library- Reach out with questions info@girlsrockdsm.org

Monday to Friday 9 am-4 pm
Early Drop-off begins at 8 am
Late Pick-up until 5 pm
You must be able to commit to the full schedule to attend.

Tuition for Summer Camp is on a sliding scale ($1 - $1600) and based upon annual household income.
There is a $25, non-refundable, application fee. If you need assistance with this fee, contact us.
Everyone gets to participate in camp, period!
In our 10+ years of camps, we have never turned anyone away due to a lack of funds, and we never will.
The majority of your camp tuition goes directly to paying camp staff a living wage.
If for any reason you decide to cancel your registration, a $50 cancellation fee will apply.
